Design Background

According to figures from the Hong Kong Ophthalmology Society, the myopia rate among six-year-old children in Hong Kong is the highest in the world (11.4%). The figures for other regions/countries are: Beijing 7.4%, Singapore 6.6%, India 5.9%, Shanghai 5.2%, Shenzhen 3.7%, and the Netherlands 2.7%, Australia 1.4%. Between the ages of six and nine, the rate of myopia jumps to 44.5%. This is believed to be related to the fact that children enter primary school and have more homework to do. This situation deserves attention.

Myopia is a long-term issue. According to the Department of Ophthalmology and Visual Scieneces of the Chinese University of Hong Kong, the average person’s risk of retinal detachment is 1:300, while that of myopia patients increases to 1:20, which is 15 times higher, and retinal detachment has become more common among younger people.

When it comes to myopia, most people rarely think of the impact of lighting products.
